The 3rd in our ever-popular series of food & beer pairings is due to take place on Monday, May 21st with a few sumptuous beers from our very own hometown brewers, Roc Brewing Co! We’ve got the menu ready today, but keep an eye out on Facebook as the date approaches for any fine tuning we may do prior.

The menu will look like this:

Roc Brewing Co. Golden Pale Ale kicks things off paired with a Hearts Salad comprised of Hearts of Romaine, Artichoke & Palm Hearts with a creamy house-made Roquefort Dressing.

The Second Course pairs up the Union 56 American Ale with a Lemongrass Soup and a duo of delectable Curried Shrimp Wontons on the side.

The main course will pair Cullinan’s Rivival, a robust Irish Red done right, with a succulent Korean BBQ Beef  Sirloin. We’ll be simmering the beef in a house-made BBQ sauce that’s infused with a touch of this flavorful beer.

The evening wouldn’t be complete without a delicious dessert creation from our head Chef. The dessert will feature the Dark Mild with a Caramel Flan, a rich custard drizzled in Caramel Sauce made from the Dark Mild and a mix of sugars and butter.

With March quickly drawing to a close here in Rochester, we’re thinking one thing at the Basin Pub. Well, besides the fact that we wish the warm weather would have stuck around a little longer… Baseball Season 2012 starts March 28th! The season opener between the Seattle Mariners & The Oakland Athletics is set to take place at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.

In our continual quest to bring you the finest selection of craft beer this side of Rochester, we’ve been doing some pondering about what defines a good fall beer. Words like spicy or sugary come to mind, but one word might define fall best: “Pumpkin”! Thus, we’re bringing a limited quantity of Dogfish Head Punkin Ale to our taps in the near future!

As the Basin Celebration of Fall Beer continues, you’ll see the toasty, Belgian-style Dogfish Head Raison D’Etre join our draft lineup among other beers yet to be revealed!
